Thanks for coming to see our new place!  It was loads of fun!

I happened upon this facebook group dedicated to Dover, and there were all these cool pictures - some from as far back as 150 years ago!  Click here

Happy 5th of November!

Yesterday was a long and busy day.  Michael and I borrowed his dad's truck and got started on moving a bunch of furniture to the apartment.  Then we went to get more stuff of mine that was in a storage unit near downtown.  (My mom had packed up all my remaining things while I was in Florida and put them in a storage unit because she thought that renovations on my grandma's house were going to be happening right after she moved to Maryland.) Michael and I went primarily to get my furniture, but we also took all my other belongings and returned them to my grandma's garage because the unit had to be empty by November 8th or we'd have to pay $40 for another month.  Sooo lots of lifting, loading, and unloading heavy boxes and awkward pieces of furniture all afternoon.

In the evening, Darrin was done working, so he and Curt Karl (I don't know how to spell his name) drove over to my grandma's with Curt's giant Greensweep trailer in tow.  With three men now doing the heavy lifting of the remaining furniture instead of one man and a weakling (me) everything got moved out of the house and into the apartment in record speed.  Now the only things that need to be brought to the place are Darrin's belongings and general household items like kitchenware, toiletries, electronics, blinds/curtains/rugs, and miscellaneous things like books, movies, and decorative knicknacks.

What do you guys think of an apartment warming party this weekend?  I think we'll be all settled in by then.

I'm back! (A Dinosaur Story)

Haha no, I'm back from the random journey to Maryland.  My mom and her fiance Sam flew up from Maryland to visit briefly last week, and they had planned on getting a rental car to drive  home b/c they had to take Freddie back with them.  I guess when they were trying to rent said car, there was much confusion.  Apparently the car became much more complicated to rent when the people at the rental place found out it was just a one way trip instead of a round trip, and I guess the place didn't accept debit cards or cash.  So my mom and Sam were stranded, and Sam had a meeting he had to attend on Monday.

Anyway, Mike suggested we all drive to Maryland in my car, and then he and I could drive it back to Dover the next day.  The idea was agreed upon, and we made the six hour journey to Maryland from 8:30 pm to 2:30 am on Sunday night/Monday morning.  Sam paid for Mike and me to stay overnight in a Red Roof Inn in Columbia (where he and my mom live).  When we got there and laid down in the bed we just zonked right out.

The next afternoon Sam and my mom took us to lunch at a sports restaurant called Champs, and then we walked around this enormous mall filled with every store you could imagine.  After that we went to see the condo where Sam and my mom live, and then Mike and I were on our way back to Ohio.  It was an interesting journey because we talked about all sorts of random things and we almost hit three deer.  As in, brakes screeching, narrowly missing hitting giant creatures by one or two feet going 50 mph.  Scary...So we got back around 10:30 last night.

Today we might try to move some stuff into our new place because...GASP...we signed the lease on our apartment!  I'm excited for you guys to see it.  It's in the upstairs of an old Victorian-style house on E. 3rd Street near East School.  Hopefully we'll be moved in by the end of the week.

I guess that's all for now...the end.
